We decided it was time to graduate Q to her big mountain bike. She was having to pedal far too hard and inefficiently on her fixed gear bike and couldn't have enough stamina for long bike rides. She was ready for gears! Of course our "hates change" girl was not thrilled about this and pitched a big fit and it was "IMPOSSIBLE" for her to ride it....until she decided it was.....and then she rode just fine on it. She's already gotten quite comfortable on it in a week and is zooming all over the place and talking smack about how fast she is.
We've been doing lots of bikerides, some to the pool!!!!I still have this little co-pilot, as his training wheels slow him down too much to ride very far with us.
Monday morning we did brunch with Megan and Madi. The boys checked out a Lotus.
Beck loved to make our last foster baby's formula and feed her, so he wanted to give it a try with Madi, too!!
Chicken and waffles!
We painted a wall in this guy's room, so he got to sleep in our room, and he thought he should be in the crib since he's a "baby frog."
Beck's room was already kinda finished as a guest room before he moved in, so it's never been particularly "boyish." As he gets older and his little personality unfolds more and more we've added little bits of "Beckness" to it. This past weekend we painted the back wall "Mt. Etna"--a dark bluish-greeny-slate color. I had slate gray in mind when we went to the paint store but they didn't have anything like what I was picturing. I knew my crew would say no way to more paint stores and I really just wanted to get the paint bought and done while we had a free window of time....so Matt chose this color....and I love how it turned out!! It is very Beck and lots more boyish. I also rearranged his room a bit for him, which he just loved! You can admire that new window ML installed, as well!!!!
We caught some fun bugs over the weekend!!
Bike riding lessons (discussed previously) with disgruntled rider:
She drew this for Beck:
We had some killer thunderstorms this past week.....one night there was so much crazy thunder that this guy woke up about a half dozen times. He was scared but trying hard not to be. Daddy was giving him a science lesson about thunder and lightning to help ease his fears....these boys of mine are so very rational! Beck ended up sleeping in the crib a second night....and just as Matt and I were drifting off to sleep about 3 am (I told you....that thunder was CRAY-CRAY!!) we heard a little voice say, "Mama, you wanna pet my caterpillar??" He had a little caterpillar toy in the crib with him. So much for falling asleep for another hour.....when he got relocated to his own room because he couldn't stop talking.
This girl got her summer haircut, courtesy of Mama.
Beck took some pictures of me and Al before I trimmed her.
He loves wearing Q's police hat:
We took a swim with the fam at a friend's pool:
Taking a nature walk at a greenbelt near our library:
Beans from my garden.
I kinda dig packing her lunch. It's my own little artistic exercise. :)
We've been hanging out with this girl as much as possible!
My cutie boy in a patch of clover!
Drove by a new park and couldn't pass it without playing!
This was pre-wedding project week....making candle holders for the tables with this guy, my favorite carpenter, who always helps me with my projects and causes them to turn out even better than they exist in my mind! Gotta love that!
Chatting with Daddy on my bed after work.
Replacing Beck's Window:
Books in the bath....multitasking.
They love building forts.Smoothies!

Getting fancy on a walk....of course she needs her sequin heart purse.
