Sixteen Weeks

Quinn is sixteen weeks old today...and the big news??? SHE'S A ROLLER! She started rolling on Sunday night when I was getting her ready for a bath. She was in her diaper on the floor and she rolled all the way over by herself twice! She has done it several times since then. Of course she won't do it when I am trying to video it.....
We just weighed Quinn on the pig scale and she is 14.5 lbs.
Oma got out the little seat that hooks on the table that Chelsea and I sat in as kids. Quinn liked it a lot--for a little bit. She sat with us while we ate dinner last night, propped up with some blankets. She has enjoyed getting to spend time with all of our Wyoming family, and of course watching car engine videos on youtube with Opa.

Wyoming

Quinn was such a good girl on the airplanes yesterday. Dad held her for takeoff on the first flight to Denver. She was fascinated by the tv in the headrest. The people in the seat next to him said, "She's so tiny, is this her first flight?" Dad told them that she was already a veteran flyer! After takeoff she slept the rest of the flight in Oma's arms. On the plane to Wyoming she gave a repeat performance and slept the whole time in Oma's lap. Mommy and Opa slept in their own laps. :) 6:30 am flights sure come early! When we got to Wy we had three more little Christmas celebrations....with Mitch and Carrie, then Grandma and Grandpa Staudinger, and then after church with Grandaddy and Lil. Quinn got an outfit and a new babydoll that giggles...and makes Quinn giggle back!

Bath Fun

Oma gave Quinn her baths in the kitchen sink, which was a big hit! And she loved her new froggy washcloth and towel from Mimi and Meg!

Christmas Day

We went to my sister's house for Christmas day. Quinn LOVEd the fishtank and could watch it longer than Opa's arm could hold her up there. I definitely think we will have to get her a little tank when she gets older. Of course she also loved Chelsea's Christmas tree. They have LED lights on it and Quinn stared so hard at them that her eyes crossed! She also reached up and tried to grab the branches, which is a new thing for her. She loved trying out Kallan's highchair, crib and rainforest bouncer. She wants to go back when he is there to play with all of his toys!! On Christmas Quinn got a couple more cute outfits, a book and a pull-along elephant toy from Aunt Chelsea and Uncle David.

Stockings

Quinn didn't get much in her stocking from Santa this year, as she's still too small to play with much. She did get two wind-up toys (she loved the little caterpillar) and a bird rattle, though. And her stocking was bigger than her!!

Christmas Eve

We all got together at Mike and Lynda's for Christmas Eve. We chowed down on yummy steak and lots of other goodies. Quinn was a bit on the grumpy side, but she did look so cute in her Christmas bow and green polka-dot leggings. And yes, my baby did celebrate Christmas in a short-sleeved onesie...Only in Texas....She also had glitter all over her head from laying under the Christmas tree..her favorite place to be these days!!
She enjoyed a Christmas story with Blaine (as you can see from her eyes--Rudolf is one amazing reindeer...) and Uncle Mike tried to read her new book to her, but she was a little too cranky for that so he had to do some back-patting instead. It was a great night with lots of family!
Quinn got lots of goodies, too....several books, some clothes, a new froggy towel, and a big duffel bag that is yellow, which we think is her favorite color!

Meeting Great-Grammie and Grandad

Quinn got to meet her Great-Grammie and Grandad over the Christmas holiday! She got some cuddles from both of them and enjoyed napping in Grammie's lap on Christmas Eve while everyone opened their presents.

Fifteen Weeks

Quinn is fifteen weeks old this week...She has changed so much in this week! Her biggest milestone is that she is grabbing objects successfully and purposefully. We first noticed this when she was sitting in a highchair at my sister's for Christmas dinner and I put my bracelet on the tray. She reached out and grabbed it and held it in her hands! Another thing we noticed her starting to do was look at things with more attention. My sister has a jungle bouncer, and Quinn loved sitting in it and staring at the yellow monkey toy on it. There were also some animals hanging above it, and she noticed those as well. She bounced and giggled and talked to the monkey for the longest time. My family thinks she has an affinity for yellow. She smiles anytime she sees something yellow. Today at REI we showed her a yellow jacket and she got so excited!
Quinn can now pull her arms out from under her when she rolls over (with a bit of help on the rolling part). Last night when she was rolling she was also scooting herself around with her knees. She has mastered the raspberry sound and a very shrill squeal and is so pleased with herself when she makes those noises. Tonight she wore her first pair of jeans, which is of course a milestone we need to document. :) We leave for Wyoming tomorrow, so hope this girl is ready for some cold weather!!

Fun with Oma and Opa

We finished up Christmas shopping the last couple of days. Quinn was a good sport in her stroller as long as Opa kept her moving. Once at Kohl's he even had to resort to taking her out and carrying her around to show her all the books and toys and things, as she had gotten her fill of the stroller. She also got to try out a little bike at Lakeshore. Not quite her size yet, but in a year or two! Matt gave Oma and Opa an eye exam, and while we were waiting for Oma, Opa and Quinn picked out some sweet new spectacles.

All ready to go out looking at Christmas lights!

We went out to look at Christmas lights tonight, so we got Quinn all dolled up in her warm clothes. Once we got to the neighborhood with the lights, we were driving really slowly, so we held Quinn up to the window and she was amazed by all the lights. I was surprised she was interested in looking at them for so long!
