Just Walking.....

Went on a little walk to check out a location for a photo shoot I'm doing this weekend, and I couldn't refuse a few snaps with my p/s of my shaggy-haired girl (hair clip was long lost by 7pm) and her daddy.....

She kept wanting Daddy to run with her. She'd say, "Daddy when we're running you hold my hand."

Beach Baby
Recently daddy was gone for a couple days so us girls took a quick beach trip with a friend and her baby. Q LOVES everything about the beach. She had no problem running straight into the cold waves and jumping around in them....even when they hit her in the face and she choked on water and puked....didn't deter her! :) One of her favorite things is putting sand all over herself. She did that for the longest time. She also loved helping herself to food in the picnic bag and eating "sammies." And hallelujah--our first beach trip where I didn't have to fight her to leave her hat on the entire day! I explained why she had to wear it and she had no problem at all!
This big log filled with all sorts of sea creatures washed in near our blanket on the sand. Everyone around on the beach went to check it out. They were all poking that big worm thing with sticks and beach trash. Of course my girl just reaches out and touches it with her bare finger.
We're already ready for another trip back!Posted by DL at 9:10 PM 0 comments

Quinnisms
Q and I were taking a shower the other night. She looks up at me and says, "Mommy, you have grubby ears."
We check out cd's from the library frequently, and they always have some part that skips because they are "well-loved" and pretty scratchy. So Q is familiar with them messing up because they skip. The other day she informs me she's gonna sing a song:
Q: "I may never march in the infantry, blah, blub, blee, bluh.....it skipped!"
At dinner the other night Matt said the prayer before we ate and Q sternly told him:
"Daddy, TELL JESUS THANK YOU FOR HIS BLOOD." And of course Matt added a postscript to his prayer, because how can you refuse a request like that? :)

Two for Tea
Q fills the little teacups with water, lets the animals drink for a minute, dumps the leftovers out, and refreshes the "tea." Alie and Beaux love it. Beaux even comes for an extra round in the mornings when we are brushing teeth and getting dressed, and he can count on Q to give him a fresh cup of water run from the tub faucet.

Little Stamper
About this time she heard Grandbob pull up to talk to Daddy outside and went running out to give him a stamp, too.

20 Weeks and 1 Snake around!
According to our very conventional measurement system (Opa says it's a 'snake measure'), Bacon Bit is 1 snake "big!"

Redbud Season
Matt and I have a special love for redbuds because they remind us of Spring in Oklahoma....where we fell in love. Awwwww.

Quinnisms
Quinn has developed a liking for the Brad Paisley song "This is Country Music." Whenever it comes on she exclaims, "It's country mumik!"
Whenever a Pat Green song comes on the radio I turn it up really loud and I taught Q to say, "Sing it, Pat!" at the top of her lungs. Today a song came on the radio and Q asked, "Is this Pat?" It wasn't, but it was at least his style.
My girl and country "mumik." Be still my heart.
Q loves for us to point out her hospital (Memorial Hermann-where she was born). She knows we see it on the freeway and she knows there's a big boom crane over it right now. Then she asks to see Lukey's hospital as we go further north. Last weekend we went to Grandbob/Grandsue's and were driving back south, so we came to Luke's Hospital first. Q asked what it said next to the cross (up on the building) and I read, "St. Luke's." She considered this for a minute and then asked, "Where's St. Quinn's?"

Last week we had a playdate at Borrough's Park with some friends and Aunt Meg. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed trying out the many playgrounds (that place is HUGE), took a nature walk, looked for bugs, and then Q and I had a picnic. We tried feeding the ducks, but they were too sophisticated for our Cheerios. Q chased some geese around and got hissed at. They were as tall as she was and I didn't want to have to visit Daddy because a goose had pecked her eye, so I made her watch from afar. The above photo is her watching "those grouchies," as she has now nicknamed all geese. So far she's only been proven correctly in our geese experience. We met another flock at Meyer Park yesterday with the same results......
She found this walking stick, and when she put it on her shoulders she said, "Like Jesus." Then a few minutes later she was swinging it at me to whack me. So she doesn't TOTALLY have the like Jesus part down..... :)
