While reading the book Caterpillar, Caterpillar with Daddy at bedtime:

Daddy was talking about the name for the cocoon--the book called it a pupa.

Q: Daddy, don't say the word "pupa."
M: Why not, Quinn?
Q: Because it sounds like the word "poop" and that's not nice.  I like "chrysalis."

Sunday

Sunday after church we went with Mimi to Beaumont to Aunt Ellen's wedding.  Quinn was horrible in the car.  H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E.  At one point she threw such a big fit that she threw up on herself.  So Mimi and I were cleaning her up in a shady motel parking lot off the side of the road with Wendy's napkins and the water from Beck's sippy cup.  She had to get a shower and change of clothes at the wedding location.  Lovely.  Just in case anyone wanted to know.  And such is life with a three year old.  The rest of the wedding was nice.  Q enjoyed a question-and-answer time with Mimi during the service.  :)

Away he goes!

Beck's getting really close to walking....He is loving walking with someone holding each hand (or holding on to both hands).  He's done a few seconds of standing.  So I knew I needed to take some pictures of him crawling before he is off his knees and onto his feet!  Nothing too exciting, just some documentation of our little guy crawling out to explore the world.

Computer Nook Update

Mail Call!

Beck isn't walking yet, but he's sure getting close!  He can cruise between pieces of furniture no problem and he LOVES to walk while pushing something.  His favorite is the little cart.  We have a routine we've started this week--in the afternoons he and I go out to get the mail.  He pushes his little cart down the sidewalk, stopping quite often to look around or pick up something from the ground.  We put the mail in his cart and then he pushes it back up to the house.  He's so proud of himself the whole time.

Party Time!

We were part of a little "baby boom" with several of our good friends last year.  Three babies born within 2 weeks of eachother.  That means lots of turning-one-year-olds!  Tonight we celebrated Jenna's 1st bday.  All the kiddos had the best time playing together and the planets were apparently aligned correctly because all were happy to just play, play, play....letting us parents get some catching-up in.....we even ended up staying way past the party and making a spur of the moment pizza party! 

Beck is totally into pushing stuff and walking behind it now.  He loved Jenna's new push puppy.
 

And the fan.  He thinks fans make bee sounds.  He points and does the sign for fan and says, "Buzzzzzzzzz."

 

And puppy also works well for a stool in a pinch. 

The birthday girl....who was quite ladylike and only put a couple fingers into her cake.  No huge mess!

Quinn and Jenna love eachother.  Jenna is very laid-back, so she doesn't even mind when Q wrestles her.

Jenna got done opening after about 2 presents, so Q happily filled in for her. 

What a fun time to be with friends and watch our little ones enjoy eachother's company, as well!!  Matt and I laughed on the way home that it'll probably never happen again that they all will be so pleasant at the same time.  But we'll take it when we can.  :)
