Saying Goodbye to Peachy.

We had some sad days at our house this past week.  Our sweet little Peachy died on Tuesday.  Quinn was heartbroken, of course.  She cried and cried and cried, and when she stopped crying she'd restart anytime something reminded her of Peachy.  Luckily she already had plans to get a haircut with Mimi, so that distracted her a bit, and they ended up spending the rest of the day together and going to visit Grammie, so that was very helpful.  When Daddy got home he took her out of the cage and we wrapped her in a nice silk and Quinn put bouganvilla blooms on her.  Then Daddy dug a hole under the tree and put her in.  Beck ran over and grabbed his little shovel and very matter-of-factly filled in the dirt and patted it down, just like a pro.  He was very serious and professional about it.  It was adorable.

And, since you're probably wondering....
-we won't replace her anytime soon
-Quinn says she will never be able to eat a peach again because she'll be too sad
-After hearing us talk about Peachy dying, Beck said, "Then I'll take her.  I wuv (love) dead animals!"  We are pretty sure he thinks stuffed animals used to be alive.
-Quinn is still very sensitive about Peachy's death, and she gets upset if she tells people and they aren't saddened to a deep enough degree.
-Beck now likes to talk about everything being dead.
-Grandbob and Grandsue brought her over a little sympathy card the next day, and Quinn traced the flowers on the front of it 6 times to take to school to give all the teachers a copy of so they could be notified about Peachy's death.

Beck's pet.

Quinn has been waking up a bit earlier than normal the past couple of weeks, but she's kept herself very busy with projects like decorating the stairs for the rest of us with her knick nacks, making a web of yarn across her room, and creating a little person out of a styrofoam ball and some paints.  Beck fell in love with the styrofoam ball, so Quinn made him one of his own, as he anxiously looked on.  It was a sweet moment between them.

"This is my pet!  Do you know what his name is?  Joyful!  Do you know what his middle name is?  Joy.  Joyful Joy!"  -Beck

Happy Thanksgiving, from me and the little turkeys!

Trying out Aunt Lauren's turkey hats in Beaumont with the fam.  Thanks for the pic, Aunt Mandy!  I took a technology hiatus to enjoy the day, so was glad she stepped in to commemorate the turkey hats!

Snacktime, al fresco!

Hanging with the lil' guy.

Outside.

US!

Home Depot had this little scene set up outside the store and Quinn spotted it and arranged a little photo shoot!  She was all business!

naturelovin.

He likes to glue now.

Beck has never been as into craftin' and working in the studio as Quinn has always been.  Lately, though, he is loving using glue and little objects to make his artwork.  He especially loves glitter....and can make a grand ole mess and use WAY more than Quinn approves of!

our 6 year old!

I always make my kiddos a birthday shirt with their number on it, which usually ends up making an appearance in their bday thank you card photos!  Here are Quinn's from this past birthday....
With a guest appearance from the little guy.

Morningglories!

There is a fence covered in bright blue morning glories right by Quinn's school.  Beck and I admire it every day when we drop her off.  One day we decided it was time for some pictures by it!

He wanted to take a picture of me.  After 200 attempts, he finally got one without his thumb but WITH me in it.  :)

Beck's son....

Beck is fully a three year old these days!  With all the emotion (crying over EVERYTHING), exploding vocabulary, 10,000 "why's", and continuous imaginative play!  He is never Beck, he is always a frog, a caterpillar, a yellowjack, a puppy....he loves to play fetch right alongside Alie.  Ever since Aunt Meg and Madders were here, he has had an imaginative baby most of the time.  He likes to pet his baby's head (he loved rubbing Madisyn's hair) and he pumps milk for her out of his stomach.  :)   Yesterday he and I ran errands while Q spent some time with Mimi, and Beck carried an imaginary baby in his arms everywhere we went.  It was so cute!

Spending the afternoon with this guy....

B and I went to scout out a field I want to use for an upcoming photo session.  He was a good sport to let me shoot a few photos, then we spent the rest of the time playing chase and throwing hay at each other!  So this is my little man, raw, play-clothed, and in typical Beck form!  Isn't he the cutest guy you've ever seen?  Cause I sure think so!
