We had some sad days at our house this past week. Our sweet little Peachy died on Tuesday. Quinn was heartbroken, of course. She cried and cried and cried, and when she stopped crying she'd restart anytime something reminded her of Peachy. Luckily she already had plans to get a haircut with Mimi, so that distracted her a bit, and they ended up spending the rest of the day together and going to visit Grammie, so that was very helpful. When Daddy got home he took her out of the cage and we wrapped her in a nice silk and Quinn put bouganvilla blooms on her. Then Daddy dug a hole under the tree and put her in. Beck ran over and grabbed his little shovel and very matter-of-factly filled in the dirt and patted it down, just like a pro. He was very serious and professional about it. It was adorable.
And, since you're probably wondering....
-we won't replace her anytime soon
-Quinn says she will never be able to eat a peach again because she'll be too sad
-After hearing us talk about Peachy dying, Beck said, "Then I'll take her. I wuv (love) dead animals!" We are pretty sure he thinks stuffed animals used to be alive.
-Quinn is still very sensitive about Peachy's death, and she gets upset if she tells people and they aren't saddened to a deep enough degree.
-Beck now likes to talk about everything being dead.
-Grandbob and Grandsue brought her over a little sympathy card the next day, and Quinn traced the flowers on the front of it 6 times to take to school to give all the teachers a copy of so they could be notified about Peachy's death.
