Around Here....

 Just doing a little ironing:
Crime scene or bath with crazy kiddos??
After Lovebug's surgery we took over Sonic drinks.  My kids played in the dog swimming pool like it was the best thing on the planet.  If I had this same pool at my house they wouldn't even set foot in it.  Everything at the Meredith's house is 1000 times cooler automatically.
His first Curious George book at the library:
Q's first dental visit....she was not fond about the idea to start with, but she has not stopped talking about it since.  She wants to read dentist books, watch youtube videos on dental stuff, and look at the picture of her teeth that they took.   Dr/Mr. Bobby is a friend of ours, so we loved getting to visit his office!  He was amazing with Quinn and immediately put her at ease and won her over.

More from Austin....

Some random ones from our Austin trip at the beginning of the summer.

Q got her "wet hair" brush on this trip.  That thing is MAGICAL.  Seriously.  We think it is made out of unicorn's hair because it can detangle the rattiest of hair.
Eating at a food truck is a must.  We had a bit of trouble locating the ones we wanted, so we finally settled for this one.

Then we took a walk to get some Amy's ice cream.

Q found these two beetles in Target when we ran in to get Beck a bathing suit.  She kept them all weekend and was in love with them.
We spotted as many pretty mimosa trees as we could find!!

My boys fixing my stuff.

Don't you see why I keep them around?  They're CUTE and HANDY!

Elizabeth's Birthday

Catching up a bit on some posts I haven't gotten to....

This was Elizabeth, our neighbor, on her bday.  We brought over special cupcakes to celebrate her big day, which was really exciting to my kiddos!
And best of all, they were having their house pressure washed, so the kids got a demonstration.  That was the start of Beck's pressure-washing pretend play.  He was deeply, madly in love with this new powertool!  Ms. Victoria gave him a very in-depth discussion of how it worked and then took him outside and showed him how to use it.  We have the best neighbors!

A little OK roadtrip.

Oh yes, of course a snack-stop at Buccees.

Yeaaaa!  We made it.  We got to see Amy's new digs!  Which, impressively, she had just moved into the weekend before.  She had been one busy girl!  Her new house is great and we enjoyed being her first outta-town-friends to break it in!
Of course we had to eat breakfast somewhere yummy....We tried out a new place which did not disappoint.

The reason for our trip was a baby shower for Heather--who is married to Matt's college roommate, David.  Us girls had a great time showering their family with love!!  The boys had "Daddy Daycare" duty and did a great job with the kiddos (at least they all survived, so I call that a great job.)

Annaleise, saying a blessing over Heather:

Heather, receiving the very sentimental blessing:
 The table:

Ava spent the night at Amy's Saturday night.  Here're the girls and Amy doing storytime.  The girls LOVED having a sleepover together (except for one minor squirmish over who would release the toad they caught outside) and it was so fun to see them enjoying one another!

Look how they fell asleep.  Isn't this the cutest!!
 Church on Sunday morn:

Heather snapped this great shot I just love, so I am borrowing it from her.  One of the things I enjoyed most over the weekend was holding my friends' babies and playing with their kiddos.  Such a fun dimension to our friendships.
Beck in his "boat bed" we borrow from Mimi for roadtrips:
Q listened to so many books on cd (Magic Treehouse) and podcasts (Sparkle Stories) on the trip.  She was the best little traveler with her stories to listen to and some beads to string!
 Our Askew Friends:

Papa let us borrow his car for the trip cause ours is getting sketchy.  Good thing, cause the alternator went out on the Taurus when Matt was driving home today.  Wouldn't have made for a good roadtrip.

 Listening to his mu-mik:
 Sonic stop during Happy Hour:

 Natives getting restless:

It was way too quick of a trip, but always good to be together.  David was one of my very first OC friends, so anytime he has a big exciting life-thing it always fills me with joy!  I can't wait to meet their little girl and see them as parents!  And of course it was fun celebrating Amy's new house and just catching up with everyone.  My least favorite part is chasing my natives, who are wild and crazy off their normal routine....when I'd much rather just sit and talk with my friends.  I guess we need a travel nanny, eh?  :)  Any volunteers?!  HA!  Thanks, OKC friends, for a great weekend, as always.  There's something so very sweet about those kinds of friendships you can just fall back into over the course of a weekend....even across the span of a whole lotta years.  Love you guys!!!
