He's working at it!

He's still a super-efficient roller, so he isn't too anxious to crawl.  But he does get his arms up and on his knees and rocks back and forth.

The sunshade

Beck's discovered his carseat's sunshade.
And if you pull it back up, he'll immediately let you know that he prefers it down, THANKYOUVERYMUCH!

I (heart) those chewed on (by her....it's strange, I know), ant-bitten, mosquito-allergic hivey, scratched-up, Teva-clad feet!

Playing together happily....Mama enjoys this for the short times it lasts!

He has discovered magnets!

A little time to enjoy the playroom on his own....Babyfood jars filled with cool, shakey stuff are lots of fun!

Campout Snoozin'

Along with our State Park Pass we get a couple 1/2 off a night of camping coupons, so we usually use them with a shelter, as it makes the shelter cheaper than a regular site. Plus it's so nice not to have to put up a tent late at night when we roll in after dark. This past weekend it was EXTRA nice, since it was pouring like crazy! Matt ran trips back and forth into the pouring rain to bring all our stuff in. Then he fixed us up with tarps over the screened windows and we were nice and cozy!

Here's Quinn--we have to make her a little "colleseum" with stuff around her or she'll roll all over the place.

Can you see her in there? :)

And we brought the pack and play for Beck--this was actually the FIRST TIME EVER he's even been in a pack and play, so it was a neat toy for him! He loved putting his face against the mesh and scratching against it and trying to pull himself up the side. Since it ended up being so wet, we were glad we made the call and brought it. Usually I am in favor of just doing a floor pallet, but it was nice to make sure he stayed warm and on his bed.

The power was actually out when we arrived at the park and I was getting nervous, because we'd brought an electric air mattress and sheets....nothing soft and cozy to sleep on without electricity. Thankfully it came on before we went to bed and we were able to sleep on our slightly leaky (but better than nothing) cloud of air. :)

More camping pictures to come!

Little House

This Fisher Price house was mine as a kid.  Quinn is LOVING it right now!  So of course that means Beck wants his hands and mouth all over it.  Luckily he sometimes gets a little play when his sister's busy with something else.  But not for long before she finds him out!

Swinging

Quinn's very favorite outside activity right now is swinging on her new swing (from Lowe's, she'll be sure to tell you...) She likes swinging on her tummy, since she can't get into the sitting position without a little help from us.  Tummy she can do on her own.  She'll tell you that you only put your feet down on the concrete (to push) and NOT the grass.

Lazy Morning Goings-on

Quinny, Quinny Pumpkin Muffin Face

Is NOT happy that the spider in her bug box spun a big web all over the inside.....

There....that's better!  Scraped it out with a stick and she's off to catch caterpillars!

We saw a bit of "nature" after we put two spiders in the bug box together.  We'll just say smaller spider didn't fare so well.  Quinn didn't even flinch. "He's dead," she announced and scooped out the carcass into the grass.

Mornings with Quinn

A few nights back I was putting away all the Easter decorationy items we'd had out and I was rounding up bunnies.  I went to take this one out of Quinn's room and she wailed, "NO, Don't take Big Bunny.  He's Little Bear's MUTTER!"  Matt and I couldn't help but crack up.....

In the mornings now before she comes out of her room, she spreads blankets around on the floor, lays her animals on them and does school, with lots of songs, verses and read-alounds.  She's gotten good at looking at pictures in books and making up stories that follow the pictures!

Pancakes for Breakfast was a librarty book we were really enjoying...then I found a copy we owned on the bookshelf!  Quinn had a hard time taking the library copy back, even with her own copy at home.  Somehow it just wasn't the same.  :)

Okay, just one more for tonight.

Sooc, taken by Matt.  This is seriously one of my favorite pictures ever.  I am already trying to decide where I'm going to frame it in my house.  It has all the things I love wrapped up in photograph-ical goodness. Way to go, ML.
