Quinnisms today.

In the car.....
Q: "Mommy, you can be the boss. But I'm in charge."

Can you put some gasoline on my lips? (vasoline)

Her new word is "mmm-hmmmm." She has completely replaced "yes" in her vocabulary with it. She sounds so grown up!

because= a'cause

Ouch

Q's mouth is getting better, but right now the whole side of it is black, blue, purple, green and yellow from bruises. The cut is healing pretty well. Daddy covers it every night with Nuskin (spicy medicine) and blows on it until Q decides it isn't stinging anymore. :) People keep thinking she has chocolate or marker on her face, but it's actually just the bruising!

25 Weeks....and nameless!

Might just be Bacon Bit forever. Or Kion (Key-on), which is Q's favorite suggestion. We are hopeless at choosing names. We don't even have a "maybe" list....nothing striking our fancy, especially when it comes to boy names.

Saying buh-bye to Meg

Aunt Meg moves to Germany this week, so tonight was our time to say goodbye to her. I am crazy jealous that she gets to live there and all the great places that are just a trainride away. I'm gonna live vicariously through her! And hope we get to visit soon! Of course we will all miss her like crazy......

Easter....

This is our ONE photo from Easter day, taken on Uncle Greg's phone. A little scary, I know. :)

Shortly after this, Quinn tripped on the rug, fell and hit her face on a metal part of Grammie's wheelchair. Nice deep cut next to her lip that bled until she went to bed that night. Lots of crying and unhappiness...no fun at all. Poor girl--still hurts her to eat, and her whole lip is purple and blue bruises. On Sunday night Daddy finally glued the cut together with some nuskin and it stopped bleeding....Still painful for her today, so taking ibeprophen regulary. She is going to have a face full of scars if she doesn't slow down her falls a bit!

She looked so cute in her easter dress and shoes and flower bow. Guess you're just gonna have to take my word for it. :)

School Egg Hunt

Wednesday Q had an egg hunt at her preschool. When the hunt started and the kids were supposed to find the eggs, Q spotted some M&M's dropped in the dirt. I COULD NOT convince her to leave those alone and go find eggs!

These are her two favorite friends at preschool--twins, A &C. It was far too close to naptime to get any smiles from this crew, though!

They are definitely my country girls!

Easter Morning

It began with some cuddles and Daddy reading Q's Easter Bible Story Book. So sweet.

Church Easter Party

Saturday was Bammel's Egg hunt. Here's our cool girl all ready to go in her new dress from Oma!
She LOVED the bunny. She wanted to follow him around and give him high fives.

Hunting eggs like a pro....

And US!

Quinn counting

Quinn isn't very successful with dandelions...

Or birthday candles or bubbles, for that matter. We just can't teach her to purse her lips when she blows air out....But we knew we'd better get it on video cause soon enough she'll get it figured out!!

That Pink Baby....

We love the say she says "Pink Baby isn't ce-oper-atee my words!" whenever Q gets upset with Pink Baby. Of course had to document on video!

Quinn throws up

So maybe I've thrown up several (dozen) times in the past months (ahem...Bacon Bit...your fault...) One night Matt was putting Quinn to bed and she told him she didn't feel well and she needed to throw up in the sink. She kept insisting, so finally he took her over to the sink and she pretended to barf and then she was magically better. He was cracking up, but I wasn't home to see her drama. So we had her reenact it for me so I could video it. He said she was much more enthusiastic the first time around. :) Stinker.

Quinn's memory verse

Here's Quinn saying her memory verse from this week. Pretty precious, if I do say so myself!
Isaiah 53:5

Blackbaby Pickin'

Between the three of us picking...er...two picking and one eating....We got enough for a yummy "blackbaby" pie on Easter!

Nothin' like a blackberry face!

And someone has a recent obsession with swinging around big branches.....Somehow I always end up getting smacked with it....Lovely.

24 weeks and falling in love....

Bacon Bit,
This week I found myself talking to you while I drove in the truck and you kicked away in my stomach. It makes me smile when you shift and turn somersaults in there, and I can't keep my hand off my tummy when you wiggle. I am getting more and more excited about meeting you....mostly to see what your personality will be like! We're hoping maybe you'll be mellow? We need to balance out this sister of yours.... Hope you are cozy in your little home and you don't mind being squished a little bit when I curl up my legs to sleep at night! We're all falling more and more in love with the idea of you, and looking forward to the day you'll be here so we can fall in love with YOU! This time around I'm not longing for you to be here RIGHT NOW, though. I'm enjoying lingering through these little moments like your kicks and my growing tummy and telling your sister what you will be like.
Love,
Your Momma

Party Time

On Saturday morning we got to celebrate our good friend A's 4th birthday party! A's mom throws THE BEST parties, and I love her philosophy on parties. First off, the entire party is centered around the birthday child, not impressing the guests (though I'd imagine the guests leave pretty impressed...I always do). The activities are appropriate for that age level, the food includes things the birthday child enjoys (that are simple and not over-the-top), and there are many little touches that fit the birthday child's personality exactly! This year the sidewalk was lined with little pinwheels and the entry with twinkly lights! And she always makes the neatest collage poster for each birthday with pictures of the child in special moments.
I love that she puts her best effort into the parties (which totally has to make her kiddos feel sooo special), but at the same time they aren't crazy over the top. I always leave feeling relaxed and calm, which is unusual in bday party land, cause I can't count how many kiddo parties I've left TOTALLY overstimulated......
A's mommy always has fun, educational and age-appropriate (timewise, interest level and difficulty level) "stations" for the kid with large group choices and also some invididual areas the kids can choose--for this party it was face painting, outside play time, painting on a big sheet of paper on the fence, drawing on a dry-erase easel (Q LOVED that!), painting a canvas (how cool--this will look great in Q's room!), decorating a sugar cookie, and some outside toys such as hula hoops, jump rope and bubbles. It was such a fun party, a beautiful day to be outside, and great time spent with friends!

Her Sunday finery.....

"I need-ta wear Mommy's shoes so I don't step on pokey things."

Quinnisms

Quinn came out of her playroom wearing some little gloves on her hands (like winter gloves...). She said, "I have gloves. Now I can cook in the kitchen at church. Like Ms. Rhonda."
We eat dinner on Wed. nights at church and the servers always wear gloves. Guess someone noticed!

We got in the car today after going somewhere and Q said,
"Man, it's stinkin' hot in here!"

Q: "I wanna call Opa cause he's been a good boy. "

Every night before bed to Daddy:
"Tell Mommy to be a good girl, and Alie to be a good dog and Beaux to be a good cat. And tell Pink Baby to be good. And Tata."

It's a girl!

Our good friends Martin and Jacque are expecting their first baby in August, too! SOOOO excited our kids will grow up together and we always love adding new little ones to our Camping Crew!
Last night was a big event--they had a party to reveal whether their little one is a boy or girl! Family and friends gathered around....first we took a vote as to who predicted boy or girl....
Then we opened cupcakes to see what color frosting was inside. And it was PINK! We think they are going to be wonderful parents and I can't wait to hold their baby girl! It was baby central at the party last night, with 4 babies in attendance. We got to hold two new little 10-week old twins, and Quinn had fun looking at them and also tickling Baby Joey's feet to make him laugh. Getting her big sister practice on!

Turtles!!

Yesterday on my walk I found TWO turtles! A big red-eared slider and a small box turtle. Of course I brought them both home to show Quinn! We played with them a bit yesterday, then let the big turtle go last night. He's been wandering around the yard all day today....Even climbed to the top of our giant compost pile!
The littler guy we are keeping a big longer--Q is loving carrying him around and letting him explore the garden and yard. He even played in the sandbox with her today. We named him Berry cause he likes to eat berries. Alie is having a hard time leaving them alone and wants to bark and bite at them.
