MS 150 2009

Last weekend we had some MS150 drama...Matt was supposed to ride from Houston to LaGrange on Sat. night, then to Austin Sunday morning with our cycling team and several of his buddies....Torrential rain changed all of that, so we ended up spending the night with some great people in LaGrange and the boys left from there Saturday morning and rode the second leg. Matt clocked 90 miles on Saturday with some strong Hill Country wind, but the rain cleared out and it was gorgeous otherwise! The boys had a great ride and us girls had lots of fun cheering them on and taking photos. We got back from Austin so late on Sunday night, and that put a bit of a kink in my week because I was behind on everything....thus the reason I am just now posting these pics.

Doesn't happen much these days. Matt and I are constantly asking each other, "Did you give the baby some crack?" because she is a wiggling, squirming mess! Last night I wrestled her down to change her diaper...another wrestling match to get her clothes off..then one to get her in the highchair, and a crazy wild one in the bath because she wanted to stand, crawl and roll in the water and wanted nothing to do with sitting. You'd think she was a 7-month old! :)

Hope he's not giving her any ideas...

We have a fun new game at our house...we tried and get the baby to ride the dog. Both love it. Alie goes crazy and runs all over the place and the baby giggles up a storm.

My babysitter in training....

I already have Quinn's future babysitter picked out....My friend's daughter is 10 and one of my favorite kiddos in the world....so in about 3 years she will be ready to be Quinn's sitter! She got some diaper training today from her Mom. Quinn went easy on them and they didn't even have to bust out any wresting moves....And it was just a wet one.

Tuesday night we picked up Chel, David and Baby K from the airport!! When I walked up to Baby K (who was in my sister's arms) and said, 'Hi, Baby!" I was immediately greeted with a big smile...Can't get much more precious than that! He has the best little personality...studies everything very seriously, but has tons of smiles and seems very laid back. He and Quinn weren't too impressed with one another, but they were both tired and never got to just get down on the floor and play together....hopefully this weekend! Anyway, we are thrilled he's finally here and I can't wait to see him again!

We shoulda taken this picture BEFORE dinner....mighta had a better chance of getting baby grins...Oh well!

Our school is studying the topic of "Digging in the Dirt" right now, and today we explored worms. Quinn's class participated, too, and apparently Quinn reached out and grabbed one of the worms really quickly and squished it in her hand. Oops! I am a little proud she isn't afraid of bugs, though....

Baby K news

Friday we dropped my sister and David off at the airport to begin their adventure. We've heard from them via email and they have Baby K in their arms now! They say he is so laid back and such a good baby and very cute...They will come home the 21st and we can't wait to see him. Opa had the hard job at the airport of keeping Quinn entertained while we got Chel and David through with all their bags. Opa did lots and lots of walking around concourse D!
